Our Initiatives

Glimpse Inside The Impact We Made

Investing in Tomorrow's Leaders

We are committed to supporting the educational development of children for a brighter future. In the Chauda Village, we undertook the renovation of an Anganwad school, refurbishing the building and creating a playground for a conducive learning space.
Our team renovated the Nandghar Anganwadi in Chauda Village, near our Silvassa factory. Along with retaining the pillars, the entire building was refurbished, with new windows, doors, and fittings. We also created a lawn and converted barren land into a playground for children. The Anganwadi serves over 120 children (ages 1-6) and runs programs for pregnant and anaemic women. Additionally, we donated 220 school kits to the children of a nearby Adivasi school.
Impact: Over 120 students are regularly visited. School wraps up around noon, after which mid-day meal is provided to kids and later there are various programs and initiatives for pregnant ladies, anaemic women, and training programs.

Building a Healthy Community

In collaboration with hospitals, we address both immediate and long-term health needs. One of our main initiatives included organising free medical check-up camps in collaboration with hospitals offering health screenings for residents of Kalsunpada village. Additionally, we promote blood donation through regular donation drives at our factory.
We've also made annual donations to Shri Vinoba Bhave Hospital's dialysis centre and leprosy centre, ensuring these vital services continue to support the community.
Impact: The camps saw a response from employees of SGPL and their friends. Total no. of 770 enthusiastic people participated in the blood donation campaign, and 589 persons qualified to donate blood, exceeding the target of 500 units of blood.

Kishori Mela, Anemia Reduction Program
Nirmala Niketan College

In February 2020 our NGO partner Nirmaya organised Kishori Mela under our Anemia Reduction Program wherein 150 adolescent girls (beneficiaries of our program) participated in a cooking competition and prepared nutritious meals. Nutritionists selected winners from Nirmala Niketan College and our 3 employees volunteered in the mela.
Impact: Our efforts were appreciated by the community leaders and the ICDS staff. This continued support from Sterling and Wilson Solar for the Anemia Reduction Program was recognised by industry leaders.

Promoting a Sustainable Future

At Sterling Green, we understand the importance of environmental responsibility. One initiative involved creating a beautiful new lawn and organising a tree plantation drive near our factory in Silvassa. This project included additional tree plantation drives at our facilities and nearby schools in Khanvel.
Impact: Planted over 1100 saplings to contribute to a healthier planet.

Drinking Water Project,
Osmanabad, Maharashtra

In partnership with Eureka Forbes, we provided 2 RO plant at Chilwadi, Maharashtra. These plants provide safe drinking water to the local community.
Impact: Control over waterborne diseases like diarrhoea, malaria, cholera and typhoid, especially during the monsoons; with 1500 families benefited and an increase in employment for 3-4 villages.

Empowering Community Well-Being

Our primary CSR initiative is our house-building project, which has provided 108 permanent houses to families in need. Understanding that safe housing goes hand-in-hand with proper sanitation, each house is provided with a toilet.
Also we've constructed 13 toilets in Dadra and Nagar Haveli under our CSR initiative. We've also been supplying 22000 ltr clean drinking water per day to Kalsumpada village since 2014.
To encourage community engagement among our residents, we offer educational and entertainment programs. We're committed to equipping villagers with valuable skills like tailoring to help them achieve financial independence.
Impact: Built 108 pucca houses for the people. Building material for these houses was supplied in two phases. These houses were built by the villagers as a team work under the supervision of our civil engineer.

Refurbishing of Home for the Aged Fatehpur Beri, New Delhi

S&W took the initiative of refurbishing an old age home in Delhi. We renovated the complete 2 storey building by redoing the paint, tile work, front elevations, toilets, and replacing the old electric wiring, and geyser. After park levelling and grass cutting, the total cost of the project was about INR 8.5 Lakhs.
Impact: The home, with a capacity of 25 people was inaugurated by our Director, Mr. Bikesh Ogra in February 2020.
Education and Skill Development

Empowering Dreams: A Donation Drive at Zilla Parishad School,
Hiwali, Nashik

In collaboration with the 'GIVE Foundation,' we ventured into the realm of exceptional learning at Zilla Parishad School, Hiwali, Nashik, located 75 km from Nashik City. Students, aged 4 to 12, demonstrated remarkable skills that left an impression. During our Christmas Donation Drive, our team generously contributed various items, including books, clothing, stationery, edibles, and toys, to support these underprivileged children. Witnessing the joy on students' faces was truly rewarding when we handed over this donation to them. A warm welcome and handshakes extended by the students as they guided us through the school's vibrant ambiance made this experience uniquely special.
Impact: Our contribution to the donation drive has directly impacted the lives of 70 adivasi students at Zilla Parishad School, Hiwali, fostering a brighter future for these young minds. We felt happy in empowering dreams and building a legacy of knowledge and compassion.
